Shrek is a fictional ogre character from the children's book Shrek! and the Shrek movies. He is the main protagonist of the franchise of the same name. The name "Shrek" is derived from the German and Yiddish word "Schreck"/"Shreck", literally meaning "Fear" or "Terror." Shrek is voiced by Mike Myers.

On May 21, 2010, Shrek received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in Los Angeles.
